Check This Release - Z H I N O - Trials & Tribs (Out On All Digital Platforms)

The release I’m covering is “Trails & Tribs” by Z H I N O, a very talented artist and producer from South London, Croydon.
Growing up around music and always having a passion for it, he delivers a powerful message in this song. The track itself is quite somber and thrilling, capturing the listener with its emotion and tension having an air of something you might find in a Hans Zimmer score. On the song and its background Z H I N O says:
“Having a hard time, kind of going through it not in a personal way or family, just in music tired of waiting on people, trying to do everything to the best of my ability and having setbacks. Obviously, there were personal things but keeping it cool, pushed me to the edge and just kind of like f*** that”.
Produced by Rem Dolla and Z H I N O himself, the instrumental perfectly matches the content. The sweet jazzy elements of the saxophone and the hauntingly striking chords create a juxtaposition that matches the tone.
Sparing no second, it instantly starts “Trials and Tribs: I want less!” Throughout his monologue, he delivers honesty and vulnerability paired with a defiant message, narrating the struggles he faces both externally and internally and still endures.
The visuals directed by Z H I N O also contribute to this; he opts for a stripped-back and abstract video. The track marks the start of a new chapter as he gears up to the release of his debut EP “Mummy Imma Monster” dropping this month.
The biggest compliment I can pay is it hardly feels like 4 minutes and 20 seconds being gripped by every word and every twist and turn throughout the song.
Z H I N O is an artist to watch with him being picked as BBC 1Xtra’s Artist of the Week and I look forward to seeing what’s to come next and where he goes with this project.
